Once a gentle and kind-hearted young gravedigger named Joseph, his fate was irrevocably altered when his soul merged with the cursed being known as Cartaphilus, transforming him into the legendary Wandering Jew. Though granted immortality, his body endures relentless decay and excruciating pain—a torment that, over countless years, stripped away every trace of his former humanity. Driven by a desperate yearning to escape this eternal suffering, he resorts to harvesting organs and conducting horrific experiments on others, ultimately becoming the pivotal antagonist whose destiny is inextricably entwined with that of the heroine, Chise.
