Torway Remion

Torway Remion is the third son of the prestigious Remion military clan, renowned across generations as "the Remions of the Rifle." At seventeen, this sunny, pure-hearted young man carries an almost effortless charm that even Ikuta — someone who notoriously dislikes good-looking men — reluctantly admits is wasted on someone so genuinely oblivious. Torway has a habit of giving his friends nicknames, and he remains the only male character bold enough to call Ikuta "Ik," much to the latter's firm and vocal objection. He harbors quiet feelings for Yatori, though she remains entirely unaware of them, viewing him instead as nothing but a worthy rival. His marksmanship lives up to his family's fearsome legacy — at long range, his accuracy is extraordinary, with his custom air rifle capable of hitting targets beyond 150 meters. However, his compassionate nature becomes a liability in close quarters, where the reality of shooting a living person causes his hands to tremble uncontrollably. In the latter half of Volume 5, he joins Ikuta's newly formed Sinack Unit, and amid the upheaval of the coup in Volume 6, he receives an informal battlefield promotion to Acting Captain, joining Matthew on a mission into the Dafuma region to locate the Emperor.
