Arknights: PRELUDE TO DAWN is a dark fantasy action survival TV anime adapted from the hit game developed by Hypergryph and Studio Montagne. Produced by Yostar Pictures, directed by Yuki Watanabe, and with series composition by Risa Mizuno, the series centers on Amiya and the Doctor within a gripping world defined by action, fantasy, and dark tragedy.

In Arknights: PRELUDE TO DAWN, the world of Terra is a land constantly threatened by unpredictable natural disasters known as Catastrophes. Unable to withstand these recurring calamities, much of the population has taken refuge in massive mobile cities that roam across the continent. The Catastrophes leave behind a mysterious mineral called Originium, whose extraordinary energy has driven rapid technological advancement — yet at a grave cost. Exposure to Originium gives rise to Oripathy, an incurable and contagious disease that slowly crystallizes the bodies of those afflicted. Upon death, the infected become new sources of contagion, leading governments across Terra to enforce brutal policies of segregation and forced labor against them. Facing relentless oppression, the Infected have begun to resist. Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company dedicated to finding a cure for Oripathy, takes up arms alongside the Infected, embarking on a mission that goes far beyond medicine alone.
