In a world ravaged by the Gastrea virus, humanity teeters on the edge of extinction. The virus transforms infected creatures into powerful, ever-evolving monsters that are nearly impossible to contain. Survivors have retreated behind massive Varanium monoliths—towering structures built from one of the few materials capable of repelling the Gastrea—clinging to what little civilization remains. Within these fortified city-states, a unique group of young girls known as the Cursed Children carry the virus within them, yet somehow maintain their human consciousness. This grants them extraordinary combat abilities, making them the only ones capable of standing against the Gastrea threat. Enju Aihara is one such girl, partnered with civil security officer Rentarou Satomi to form a team on the front lines of humanity's desperate struggle for survival.
