Set in a near-future version of Tokyo, this military fantasy series kicks off with a sudden and unexplained phenomenon: a massive gate materializes in the heart of the Ginza district, tearing open a passage between modern Japan and a world of swords, sorcery, and mythical creatures. The chaos that follows — later dubbed the Ginza Incident — forces the Japanese government to take action, dispatching a Self-Defense Forces unit through the gate to investigate what lies on the other side. At the helm of this mission is Youji Itami, an unlikely hero whose passion for anime and manga rivals his military training. As the unit ventures deeper into this unfamiliar realm, they discover villages ravaged by a fearsome dragon. Among the survivors they encounter is Tuka Luna Marceau, an elven girl whose fate becomes intertwined with their journey. What begins as a reconnaissance mission soon evolves into something far more complex, as two vastly different worlds are forced to confront each other.
