Set in the twilight years of the Edo period, Hell's Paradise follows Gabimaru, once celebrated as the mightiest shinobi of Iwagakure, who now sits on death row awaiting execution. His fate takes an unexpected turn when he is offered a chance at freedom: retrieve the Elixir of Life from a remote island said to be the legendary paradise of Sukhavati, and his crimes will be pardoned. Driven by a desperate longing to return to his beloved wife, Gabimaru sets sail alongside Yamada Asaemon Sagiri, an executioner tasked with keeping watch over him. But the island holds far more than either of them anticipated — other condemned criminals hunting for the same elixir, grotesque creatures unlike anything from the known world, unsettling man-made statues scattered across the land, and enigmatic hermits who hold dominion over the island. With survival far from guaranteed, Gabimaru must navigate this treacherous paradise to find what he seeks and make it home alive.
