Summary

NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE is a TV anime that blends idol and workplace themes with a distinctly dark, dramatic tone set in the modern world. Produced by Yostar Pictures and directed by Masaoki Nakashima, with series composition by Nyarula, the series is adapted from the game of the same name created by WSS playground and Nyarula. Centered on Ame-chan, the story unfolds within a grounded modern setting that subverts the typical idol genre with its bold, tragedy-driven narrative style.

Plot

In a world where internet streaming has become a cultural phenomenon, one name reigns supreme: OMGkawaiiAngel, known to her devoted fanbase as "KAngel." With a staggering 10 million subscribers, she dominates every platform — from online streams to television appearances and sold-out live events — always basking in the adoration of her fans. Chasing her spotlight is Karamazov, an ambitious three-girl streaming unit determined to carve out their own place in the industry. Meanwhile, living a life worlds apart from the glittering streamer scene is Kache, a young woman juggling shifts at a theme cafe while sharing her home with a boyfriend who contributes little. A star who lights up the world, girls who reach toward that radiant glow, and "you" watching from the other side of the screen — the tale of the so-called "Internet Angel" who captivated an entire generation is only just beginning.
