Introduction / Synopsis

Summary

SING "YESTERDAY" FOR ME is a TV anime drama series produced by Doga Kobo, adapted from the manga of the same name by Kei Toume. The story centers on Rikuo Uozumi, a college graduate drifting through life while working at a convenience store, as his world becomes entangled with Shinako Morinome, a woman still haunted by her past, and the free-spirited Haru Nonaka, who enters his life with an enigmatic smile. With director Yoshiyuki Fujiwara also serving as series composer, the adaptation faithfully captures the manga's quiet melancholy and bittersweet slice-of-life atmosphere. A must-watch for fans of understated, emotionally resonant adult romance.

Plot

Set in a quiet small town along a private railway line on the outskirts of Shinjuku, this is a heartfelt story about love and what it means to be human. Four young people—Rikuo Uozumi, Haru Nonaka, Shinako Morinome, and Rou Hayakawa—each carry their own burdens as they navigate the joys and struggles of everyday life. What begins as seemingly trivial misunderstandings gradually pulls their emotions into an intricate web of complicated feelings. Part nostalgic, part hopeful, their story captures the quiet tension of living 49% in the past and 51% toward the future—a delicate balance that defines the rhythm of their youth.
