As crowds watch, the "Magia Vander" cast a new grand barrier. But then... an ominous magic circle appears in the night sky.

A swarm of Dinoboros, monsters from the deep layers, suddenly emerges. The central city is transformed from a place of celebration into a living hell, but the "Magia Vende" (Supreme Five Canes), realizing they are the targets, are unable to move from the "Tower." The city's security forces fall helplessly before the High Dinoboros, which possesses the "Mage Killer" ability to negate magic. Colette, the Dwarves, and the rising Will engage in a desperate struggle. However, as if mocking the fierce battle, Kubinashi activates a magic circle, summoning Divende—a Notorious Monster from the 40th floor—before Will and the others!

Before Will, who laments his powerlessness to use magic, Finn appears with a sword. Questioning the name of the one and only "magic" Will possesses, Finn thrusts the sword before Will's eyes.

Guided by Finn, Will awakens the power dwelling within him and cuts through the monsters in the Central Capital, clad in silver light. His objective is the Notorious Monster, Devende. He stands alone against the creature wielding the "Mage Killer," sword in hand. Witnessing the battle of Will—whom they had once looked down upon as "incompetent"—the Magic Academy students are moved. Despite fighting hard with their cheers at his back, Will's sword is snapped in two by Devende's fierce onslaught.
