《Pokémon: Become a Pokémon Master》is now available on Netflix

This miniseries has two main differences from the previous main series, "Pokémon Journeys."

First, the miniseries only has 12 episodes.

Second, the miniseries focuses on showing Ash's situation during his "final adventure." In the real-world context, Ash has been trying to become a "Pokémon Master" for 25 years, and this series will attempt to answer what that means for Ash and how he begins his next journey, whatever that may be.

These episodes have already aired in Japan (as "Pokémon: To Be a Pokémon Master"), so viewers who don't want spoilers should be careful when looking up information about the miniseries.

 

 

When the "final episode" was announced, fans eagerly hoped to see returning popular characters and Pokémon. Not only will Ash reconnect with various Pokémon he caught over past generations, but OG friends and travel companions Brock and Misty will join him for one last adventure. While this series marks the end of Ash's "main adventure," The Pokémon Company has made it clear that Ash may return in the future. They believe that after he successfully defeated Leon to become world champion in the previous series, it's time to move things to the next chapter and introduce new characters.
