The story's protagonist, Beryl Gardinant, was originally just a swordsmanship instructor in a remote countryside of the Kingdom of Rebelis. Although he trained countless disciples who made a name for themselves, he himself was content with a simple rural life.
Until one day, his star pupil, the current captain of the Rebelio Knight Order (Liberion Order), Allucia Citrus, suddenly visited and forcibly recommended him as the order's "special instructor."
In the first season, despite Beryl's lack of confidence in himself, he defeated the vice-captain Henblitz Drout with overwhelming power in a mock battle, finally earning the respect of the knight order members.
