"Hello, I am a Witch, and My Crush Wants Me to Make a Love Potion!" Anime Confirmed for 2026
For fans of fantasy romance anime, 2026 is undoubtedly an exciting year! The highly anticipated light novel and manga series Hello, I am a Witch, and My Crush Wants Me to Make a Love Potion! has officially announced its TV anime adaptation, confirmed to air within 2026.
This popular work, originally written by Eiko Mutsuhana, illustrated by vient, and adapted into a manga by Kamada, will finally meet the audience in animated form. Kamada-sensei, responsible for the manga adaptation, has also drawn a special celebratory illustration, heightening fans' anticipation for the upcoming anime.
A Beautiful Love Story Beginning with "Heartbreak"
Unlike the typical sweet start of a romance, this story's beginning carries a hint of bitterness.
The protagonist is the "Lake Witch" Roze, who lives by the lakeside and has long harbored unrequited love for the palace knight Harij Azm. However, fate plays a cruel joke on her—one day, Harij personally visits her and says:
"I hope you can make a love potion for me."
These words mean that Harij already has "someone he doesn't want to miss" in his heart, and that person is not Roze. Faced with this sudden "heartbreak," Roze, though heartbroken, cannot refuse her beloved's request. She humbly thinks that at least until the love potion is completed, she can spend brief moments with him in the roles of "client and witch."
Main Character Introduction
The most captivating aspect of this work lies in the clumsy yet sincere interactions between the two main characters.
-
Roze: A reclusive witch who is not good at socializing and is a "shut-in." Although possessing great magical power, she appears especially endearing when it comes to matters of the heart. She knows full well this is a love without a future, yet she still pours all her effort into making the potion for Harij.
