Chihaya Anon's Guitar: Not Just an Instrument, But Proof of Her Transformation from "Strategist" to the Core of the Band
In the anime 'BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!!', each character carries their own confusion and struggles, and the key person who connects these 'lost children' is undoubtedly guitarist Chihaya Anon. The purple guitar in her hands is not only her partner on stage, but also like a mirror, reflecting her growth from a calculating 'strategist' to becoming the true core of the band.

A Guitar Bought to 'Fit In'
At the beginning of the story, Anon's motivation for picking up the guitar wasn't pure. Having transferred to Hanasakigawa Girls' School after failing to study abroad in England, she devised a 'form a band' plan to quickly establish her image in the new environment and become the center of attention again. In her eyes, the band was a tool to achieve social goals, and the guitar was the necessary prop for playing the role of the 'cool vocalist and guitarist'.
She didn't choose the guitar out of love for music, but because it was trendy and 'cool'. This slightly utilitarian and vain starting point created an extremely realistic character close to real life, and made her relationship with the guitar full of storytelling potential from the very beginning.
The Guitar Model and Her 'Beginner' Skills
The guitar Anon uses is a custom model of ESP's brand 'ULTRATONE Anon'. This guitar with its beautiful light purple finish corresponds to Anon's character color, making it highly visually distinctive.
However, in stark contrast to this cool guitar was Anon's actual guitar skills. The anime frankly depicted her struggles as a beginner: she couldn't even properly play a basic F chord, and even considered relying on Takamatsu Tomori for help. When the highly skilled 'stray cat' guitarist Raana appeared, the huge gap in ability further discouraged Anon, making her want to escape at one point. This 'beginner' setting not only increased the character's relatability and authenticity, but also laid important groundwork for her subsequent growth.
