The official release today unveiled the preview screenshots and synopsis for Episode 4 "A Request from Kinme-san" (Miss Kinme's Request), featuring the debut of new twin characters. On the eve of Atami's "Char-Char Festival," an unexpected crisis erupts!
Episode 4 Synopsis: An Encounter and Pre-Festival Turmoil
Atami's grand "Kogashi Festival" is approaching, and the streets are filled with the busy pre-festival atmosphere.
Wakana Kinme, who runs "Kinme Laundry," one day meets high school girl Kuriru Wakasagi on a train due to a small coincidence. This chance encounter leads Miss Kinme to be invited to Kuriru's home to help alter a dress.
Upon arrival, Kinme discovers that Kuriru also has a twin brother, Moruda Wakasagi. This pair of twins are actually friends with the regular customer Kyusho Ishimochi.
On the other hand, the innkeeper of the Ishimochi household, Nairo Kataguchi, and others are practicing hard for the festival. However, during the preparations, they discover a "big problem"...!?
Episode 4 Highlights: New Characters and Atami Festival Culture
The Wakasagi Twins Make Their Official Debut
This episode's focus is on the new characters Kuriru and Moruda. Their names continue the series' tradition of "fish-based naming"; "Wakasagi" refers to the pond smelt.
Voice Cast:
- Kuriru: Yoshino Aoyama
- Moruda: Kento Shiraishi
Miss Kinme's Artisan Skills
From the "altering Western clothes" storyline, it can be seen that Miss Kinme's expertise is not limited to laundry and stain removal; sewing and mending are also her strengths. The audience will once again witness her sincere attitude towards clothing and her clients.
Kogashi Festival Cultural Background
The setting for this work is Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The "Kogashi Festival" is another name for the annual grand festival of Atami's Kinomiya Shrine and is an important local traditional event. The anime will depict practice scenes before the festival, and the "big problem"—whether it's costume damage or a shortage of people?—becomes this episode's biggest suspense.
