Akira Asai

Akira Asai is Kō Yamori's childhood friend, living in the same apartment building. A second-year middle school student known for her serious attitude and excellent grades, she struggles with insomnia brought on by a sense of emptiness in her daily life—often waking as early as four in the morning to head to school. It is through this habit that she reunites with Kō, who has begun living a nocturnal lifestyle. Throughout the story, she serves as a grounding presence representing human common sense and everyday reality. Though she harbors reservations about the world of vampires, she continues to support her friend with a calm and caring demeanor, acting as a vital link between Kō and the ordinary world.
