He employs the genuinely gifted esper Shigeo Kageyama at a suspiciously low wage, yet proves himself far more than a mere opportunist — whenever Mob faces emotional turmoil or a crisis of identity, Reigen steps up as a grounded adult figure whose surprisingly sincere wisdom helps shape Mob's values and worldview.
