Arato Endou

Arato Endou is a second-year high school student navigating life in the 22nd century, whose ordinary days are forever changed when a chance encounter during an hIE malfunction leads him to form a binding contract with Lacia, an advanced hIE unit. At a time when society largely regards hIEs as emotionless machines, Arato stands apart by genuinely believing in Lacia's inner soul and consciousness. Positioned as the representative of humanity itself, he is drawn into a high-stakes conflict with world-altering consequences, and through both quiet everyday moments and intense battles alongside Lacia, he challenges and redefines what true coexistence between humans and machines can look like.
