Arne operates out of a town inhabited by the supernatural, running a detective agency that specializes in cases beyond the reach of science. Originally created as the ultimate being through the fusion of nine vampire kings' hearts, he lost most of those hearts under unknown circumstances, leaving his formidable power constrained. Partnering with Rin, a girl with a deep fascination for vampires, he upholds the belief that unraveling mysteries is its own reward — accepting blood as payment while solving bizarre cases that unfold across the world of the inhuman.
