Ayumu Tanaka is a first-year high school student who joined the shogi club after falling for his upperclassman Urushi Yaotome at first sight. Despite his expressionless demeanor, he has a habit of delivering surprisingly candid romantic remarks with a completely straight face, leaving Urushi flustered.
