Garaku Utagawa is a tsukumogami who originated from a painter's brush, operating in the human world under the identity of an internationally acclaimed artist. He shares a longstanding acquaintance with Shirogane, the king of yokai, and harbors an almost obsessive fondness for Shirogane's feline form. His signature ability, known as "Gagen-jutsu," allows him to materialize whatever he commits to canvas. Rather than aligning with any clear faction, his actions are consistently guided by his own aesthetic sensibilities and personal interests, making him a formidably powerful yet deeply enigmatic support figure.
