Hannes

Once a heavy-drinking, carefree soldier in the Garrison Regiment, Hannes was forever changed by a single moment of cowardice—his failure to intervene when a Titan took Eren's mother. That paralyzing guilt became the catalyst for his transformation, pushing him to abandon his reckless habits and dedicate himself to protecting Eren, Mikasa, and Armin. Though he meets his end before Season 3 concludes, Hannes lives on through the characters' memories, embodying the innocent, peaceful days they can never reclaim. More than a commanding officer, he served as a surrogate father whose courage and warmth continue to fuel the resolve of those he left behind.
