Jirou Azuma

Jirou Azuma was raised by his grandfather, who subjected him to rigorous shinobi training from a young age, granting him exceptional physical capabilities. Although he often comes across as rough, hot-headed, and quick to get into fights, he possesses a deeply caring and compassionate heart beneath his tough exterior. He also possesses a unique, innate ability to communicate with animals, leading him to consistently look out for local stray dogs and cats. His ordinary life takes a drastic turn when he rescues a wounded black cat in the forest, only to discover that it is actually Ragou, a legendary and powerful mononoke. After being caught in a fierce battle with hostile mononoke seeking Ragou's power, Jirou's life is saved through a permanent fusion with the demon. Now bound to Ragou and wielding extraordinary abilities, Jirou is recruited by the Public Bureau of Espionage to serve in the special "Black Torch" unit, where he cooperates with fellow shinobi to protect humanity from dangerous supernatural threats.
