Kai Haramachi

Kai Haramachi is a second-year student in the Research Building of Seihou Middle School. Born into a distinguished noble family, he possesses no supernatural abilities of his own in an institution filled with gifted individuals, yet he firmly regards himself as an elite, embodying the philosophy of being "powerless but not incompetent". After running for the school's student secretary position and losing to Kodo Iwamoto, he became intensely conscious of his upperclassman. Despite his lack of powers, Kai has exceptional investigative and reporting skills, constantly recording his findings in a journal that often serves as a narrator-like voice throughout the story. He is bright, energetic, and highly talkative, frequently bickering with his classmate Soichiro Amaha over who earns more of Iwamoto's trust. Although he can be noisy and blunt, Kai is remarkably reliable under pressure and is driven by a genuine desire to assist Iwamoto and protect those around him.
