Kino Kohinata is the grandmother of the story's protagonist Hikaru, running the heartwarming coastal guesthouse 'Ama-Bito-Ya' in Izu. As an accomplished diver herself, she was the one who first introduced Hikaru to the wonders of the ocean, igniting a lifelong passion for the sea.
