Kogorou Akechi

A prodigious 17-year-old detective who holds a government-sanctioned exemption from compulsory schooling, operating out of his own agency to tackle bizarre and gruesome cases referred to him by clients. Plagued by chronic, debilitating headaches, he sustains himself through an excessive intake of canned coffee and sleep aids. Though outwardly indifferent and uncomfortable in social settings, he harbors a deep, unresolved obsession with the 'Twenty Faces' incident—a case intertwined with a once-close friend—and gradually draws Kobayashi into the shadows of that haunting past.
