Kouta

In the original television anime "Goodbye, Lara," Kouta is a mysterious boy who is always seen accompanying Lisa, Lara's fourth older sister. In reality, he is a merman who has taken on a human form to live in the modern world, often spotted carrying grocery bags from the local Heiwado supermarket. Although Kouta claims to have known Lara in the past, the resurrected mermaid princess has absolutely no recollection of him, adding an air of mystery to his background. He consistently wears a face mask that covers stitched scars on the sides of his mouth, which surprisingly do not hinder his speech. With his quiet, loyal, and supportive nature, Kouta serves as a key secondary character harboring deep connections to the merfolks' mysterious survival.
