Kyousuke Kindaichi

Kyousuke Kindaichi serves as a part-time linguistics lecturer at Kokugakuin University and was once a senior schoolmate to the poet Ishikawa Takuboku during their middle school years. Captivated by Takuboku's extraordinary literary gift, Kindaichi stood by him despite the poet's reckless lifestyle and persistent habit of borrowing money—even going so far as to sell his own cherished book collection to provide financial support. When Takuboku established the Woodpecker Detective Agency, Kindaichi took on the role of assistant, joining forces to unravel the mysterious and peculiar cases that surfaced across Tokyo in the late Meiji era.
