In her past life, she rescued a human prince from a burning ship, fell deeply in love, and struck a bargain with the sea witch Grace to trade her voice for a potion to become human. However, her feelings went unrequited, causing her to vanish into seafoam. After more than 200 years, she unexpectedly resurrects in modern-day Japan at Lake Biwa, retaining her human form but carrying prominent stitches on her tongue. Found and taken in by high school boxer Mari Otsu, Lara is forced to adjust to the unfamiliar human world of 2026.
