Mabu Akutsu

Dressed in uniform and stationed beside his partner Reo at the Asakusa koban, he conceals a devastating truth beneath his composed exterior: he operates as an agent of the Otter Empire, tasked with harvesting human desires to manufacture zombie-like creatures. After a tragic accident robbed him of his natural heart, he has since been kept alive by a mechanical substitute provided by the Empire. Yet the heaviest burden he carries is not mechanical — it is emotional. To shield Reo from the Empire's wrath, Mabu has spent years suppressing every trace of warmth, presenting a cold, machine-like facade to the world, even losing his appetite for food.
