Mai Yanase is the eldest daughter of the head of Yanase Group, a rising corporate powerhouse, and carries herself with the warm, dependable air of a natural-born big sister. She is deeply attentive to those around her, cherishing her close bonds with Kanami and Kaen above all else. As a swordswoman, she spares no effort in honing her craft, earning a reputation for exceptional skill within her academy. Off the battlefield, she channels her dedication into confectionery-making — her cookies, in particular, are a point of quiet pride. Mai possesses rare abilities known as "Clear Sight" and "Transparent Sense," which led to her being entrusted with small-unit tactical command during Maigusa's intensive training. She went on to fulfill that role in both the Kamakura Incident and the Year-End Calamity Incident. In Episode 3 of the anime, "Nene" formally certified her figure as nothing short of impressive.
