Makoto Kowata

Makoto Kowata is a 15-year-old witch-in-training who has just begun her magical journey. Following a long-standing witch tradition, she leaves her hometown of Yokohama behind to board with her relatives, the Kuramoto family, in the rural landscapes of Aomori. Sweet-natured and courteous, Makoto has one notorious shortcoming: a near-legendary inability to find her way around. Among all witchcraft skills, broomstick flight is the only one she has truly mastered so far. Accompanied by her familiar, a black cat named Chito, she navigates high school life and heartwarming encounters with mysterious beings at her own unhurried, carefree pace.
