Nicknamed "Kimari," Mari Tamaki has spent her high school days longing to do something meaningful, yet she consistently holds herself back at the last moment. Though she gives off an absent-minded impression, she is surprisingly attuned to the feelings of those around her, coupled with a boundless curiosity and an inner fortitude that surpasses anyone she knows. A devoted fan of egg-based foods—pudding above all else—her life takes an unexpected turn when she discovers one million yen dropped at a train station by Shirase Kobuchizawa, leading to an unlikely friendship and an invitation to join an expedition to Antarctica.
