Mikhail, affectionately known as 'Misha,' is the adoptive younger brother of Vanitas, sharing a common past as fellow test subjects within Moreau's Laboratory. After being rescued by the Vampire of the Blue Moon, he came to revere his savior as a paternal figure, becoming a suspected member of that vampire's thralls and inheriting a second grimoire known as the Book of Vanitas. In the anime's second season, driven by the desire to uncover the truth behind his father figure's death and to find a means of resurrection, he resorts to extreme measures—threatening both Noé and Vanitas—revealing a personality that is simultaneously childlike and profoundly dangerous.
