Nao

Nao is a half-elf woman living in the frontier city of Zoltan, and the sister of Gonz, the master carpenter who counts among the protagonist Red's close friends. Bright-natured and deeply devoted to her family, she raises her son Danta together with her husband Mido. As Red's neighbor, she frequently takes part in the everyday lives of the main group. When her son falls ill, she reveals a resilient maternal strength, making her a defining figure of the slow, warm neighborly life that the story celebrates.
