Ochiyo

Ochiyo is a young apprentice working in the koza—the backstage music section—of a traditional yose theater, where she provides live musical accompaniment for performances. It is within this shared theatrical world that she meets and falls for Kikuhiko during his early days as a zenza apprentice. Their tender, blossoming romance is tragically cut short when the intensifying air raids of World War II force Ochiyo to evacuate to the countryside, leaving behind an unfinished love story that lingers as one of the war era's quiet heartbreaks.
