Pochita was once the fearsome Chainsaw Devil revered as the Hero of Hell, but after sustaining severe injuries, it took on the form of a small dog and began living alongside Denji in mutual dependence. When Denji was killed, Pochita made the decisive choice to merge with his heart, forging a contract that resurrected him and transformed him into Chainsaw Man.
