Raizou Yamada

A second-year student at Sakimori Academy, Student ID B0693, born under Sagittarius, standing 184cm tall. Despite being a member of the tea ceremony club, he rarely attends its activities, making him little more than a ghost member. His rough appearance gives off the impression of a delinquent. He insists on being called by his self-proclaimed nickname "Thunder" (サンダー), and whenever someone addresses him by his real name, he demands they use that title instead. His greatest aspiration is to become an even stronger man. Driven by a burning desire to avenge his late best friend Atsushi, he boards Valvrave III (VVV-III) on his own accord and is successfully chosen as its pilot, gaining the same rapid physical regeneration and soul-hijacking abilities as the other pilots. In Episode 13, he accompanies the others to Earth. In Episode 23, he engages Q-Vier in battle to cover Akira Renbōkoji's hacking of the broadcast venue, and after his unit is destroyed, he is shot down by four unmanned WAFFE units. He is later venerated as one of the founding heroes of the Third Galactic Empire — revered as one of the first knights.
