Sakura Yaotome

Sakura Yaotome is a female professional shogi player currently in her first year of high school, who boldly declares herself the rival of Miwa. Unlike naturally gifted players, she has climbed to the top through an extraordinary volume of study and preparation. Sharing a common "ordinary person" quality with the male protagonist Yu, the two develop a strong mutual understanding. Despite her clumsy nature and fierce pride, she repeatedly finds herself in unexpected situations that create a romantic tension with Yu—much to the envy of the three sisters.
