His true name is Kureha Iori, an operative dispatched by the secretive organization 'The Company' to conduct field investigations. A supernatural affliction during his childhood rendered him physically blind, compelling him to wear specially crafted dark glasses in order to maintain his sight. Assigned to probe unsettling phenomena in a remote village—including occurrences tied to the 'Ochiai-ko'—he outwardly appears carefree and difficult to read, yet covertly defies the directives of his organization. He keeps a hamster by his side, within which the soul of a young girl resides, and in his resolve to avert the village's looming catastrophe, he is willing to barter his own organs in exchange with supernatural entities.
