Togusa

Togusa is a former detective from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department who was scouted by Motoko Kusanagi to join the elite Public Security Section 9. Unlike his heavily cyberized colleagues, Togusa has only undergone cyberbrain modification while keeping the rest of his body entirely organic, making him a rare, natural presence in the unit. As the team's only family man, he brings a unique, grounded human perspective and an earnest idealism to their highly pragmatic operations. Although he is a rookie who occasionally displays emotion and a certain level of inexperience during high-stakes missions, he compensates with exceptional detective skills, deductive reasoning, and sharp intuition. Togusa's preference for using a classic revolver instead of modern cybernetic sidearms further highlights his distinct individuality and traditional investigative approach within the high-tech, futuristic world.
