Varghese once served as a Holy Knight in the Kingdom of Camelot, bearing the weight of that honored title. Sixteen years ago, he firmly opposed the plan to use his grandson Percival as an experimental vessel, and chose to flee with the boy to a remote border region known as the Finger of God. Known for his cheerful nature and boundless love for his grandson, Varghese ultimately met his end at the hands of his own son, Ironside, sacrificing himself to protect Percival—a tragedy that set the young hero on his path of adventure.
