Wataru Shima

Wataru Shima is the father of protagonist Rin Shima in Laid-Back Camp. Soft-spoken and bespectacled, he carries an air of quiet intelligence and reliability. Rather than being an overbearing parent, Wataru expresses his love through thoughtful, practical actions—personally driving Rin to and from her first solo camping trip and taking the time to ask the campsite staff to keep an eye on her. He also teamed up with his father-in-law Hajime Shinjo to help Rin customize her motorcycle, showing genuine enthusiasm for her outdoor pursuits. Though his screen time is limited, his understated yet steadfast presence serves as a reassuring foundation for every adventure Rin embarks on.
