Yamamoto-kun

Yamamoto-kun is perhaps the most baffling character in the series — a student whose grey, large-eyed appearance screams extraterrestrial, yet who maintains with unwavering conviction that he is a perfectly normal human being from Earth. Strangely enough, every teacher and classmate around him seems blissfully unaware of his obvious otherness, as though some form of collective suggestion is at work. Despite his uncanny looks, he carries himself with warmth and an easygoing charm. He frequently references classic sci-fi cinema in his actions, hinting at a deep familiarity with Earth's pop culture — or perhaps something more. To top it all off, a ferocious snake-like alien creature resides within his mouth, claiming to be his little sister, which makes his insistence on being human all the more hilariously unconvincing.
