Yume Tsubakuro is the youngest and most gifted member of the Origami Clan's elite guard, a child prodigy who skipped straight from fifth grade into middle school. A prolonged struggle with serious illness kept her bedridden for much of her early life — it was only through the power of an Aratama granted by Minato that she survived, and this debt of life ultimately drew her into the guard's ranks. Her sword arm is formidable enough to surpass even Maki, a two-time tournament champion, and her record remains unblemished against all opponents save Minato herself. Yet beneath that fearsome talent lives a spirit entirely her age — impulsive, unrestrained, and near-impossible to stop once something flips her switch. Those around her tread carefully because of this, rarely granting her permission to sortie, a restriction she openly resents. Despite carrying the power of the Aratama within her, Yume stubbornly refuses to draw upon it in combat. What she craves is not victory through borrowed strength, but proof — carved by her own blade — that she lived, fought, and was worth remembering.
In Episode 11 of the anime, during the Kamakura Incident, she faces Kaoru and Ellen in back-to-back consecutive battles. She emerges victorious, but her ravaged body finally gives out beneath the weight of her illness. She becomes the first character to die in the anime, and her death leaves an indelible mark on both Maki and Suzuka.
In Chapter 11 of Part 2 of the mobile game Toji no Miko: Kizamishi Issen no Tomoshibi, titled "Kakuriyo," Maki and Suzuka's group ventures into the hidden realm to retrieve the sacred blade Namu Yakushi Kagémitsu. On their way back, they encounter a Yume who has lost all memory of her former life, yet still instinctively pursues and challenges other Toji. With no other option, Seto Chie reluctantly hands the recovered blade to Maki, who uses it to reach Yume and restore her memories. Yume is then brought back to the mortal world and revived. These events unfold during the period when Takatsū Yukina is pressuring Sagara Yuzuki to identify a suitable candidate for the NORO vaccine.
