Do you need to catch up on old plot before following the new chapter of A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality?

I, on the other hand, wouldn't rush to open the new episode. I'd first go through the parts I haven't caught up on, so that the subsequent following experience will be much smoother.

Do you directly start watching the new chapter, or do you first finish the content you've saved up from before?
