2026 Winter Anime Summary: Which one is your MVP?

The winter anime season is almost over! It's time for a summary. My personal rankings: 1. "Star Voyager" — The hope for original anime, both the plot and animation are top-tier. 2. "Mushoku Tensei Season 3" — The world-building is getting more and more expansive. 3. "Cherry Magic!" — An unexpected dark horse, very heartwarming. 4. "Witch's Guardian" — Interesting premise, but the ending felt a bit rushed. 5. "Aharen-san wa Hakarenai Season 3" — Pure happiness. Biggest disappointment: A certain sequel I had high expectations for performed below expectations (won't name names😅). What about your winter anime MVP?

The world-building in the third season of Mushoku Tensei is truly terrifying... but at the same time, the animation quality has dropped a bit compared to the first two seasons, which is quite a pity.

Frieren will always be my MVP! Even though the second season hasn't come out yet, just the act of waiting is a kind of happiness (lol). As for this season, Star Ocean: The Divine Force is definitely the best.

As someone who finished watching everything this season, my MVP is Star Ocean: The Divine Force, but if we're talking about the biggest surprise, I'd choose a relatively obscure original short series; its overall pacing control exceeded my expectations.

I have no objection to "Starry Sky Traveler" being ranked first. But my dark horse is "Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Being a Virgin Can Make You a Wizard?!"; I didn't have any expectations at first, but every episode was so heartwarming—it's a rare high-quality production among BL works.
