October 2026 New Anime: Vermilion Mask Battle Fantasy Teaser
Just saw the news for this new anime, kind of want to follow it!
"Vermilion Mask" premieres in October 2026 and is a long-running series split into two cours. The story follows Per, an apprentice mask maker who goes berserk after being controlled by the "War God Mask," accidentally killing his master and companions... Afterward, to atone for his sins, he embarks on a journey to collect/destroy masks all over the world.
The premise is quite interesting; various masks grant different abilities: War God Mask, Spider Mask, Flame Dragon Mask, Courage Mask, Vermilion Mask, etc. It feels like there will be all sorts of cool battle scenes!
However, this "power comes with a curse" theme usually gets pretty tragic later on... Has anyone read the original manga? Is it worth following?
By the way, the protagonist has blonde hair, and some people say his hairstyle looks like Gabimaru (lol).
