January 2026 Anime Season Finale Report | Thoughts on Four Series
I'd like to share my thoughts on the anime that finished this January 2026 season. I watched a total of four series.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Culling Game - Part 1: 5/5
After finishing this season, I can only bow down to MAPPA.
Even though my favorite character is gone and the plot isn't the most brilliant, the audio, visuals, storyboarding, fight scenes, and fluidity of the animation are truly impeccable.
If you watch it purely as an action-packed spectacle, it's an absolute blast. I wanted to give it 6 stars after watching Yuta's fight in the final episode.
Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!? (Which Side is Tamon-kun On?): 4.5/5
It includes elements of idol life, romance, and comedy. The male lead's true personality is extremely gloomy, which is where a lot of the humor comes from.
The female lead's strong, simple, and hardworking personality is very likable, and the setup where she explodes whenever the male lead teases her slightly is also hilarious.
The other four members of the boy band also have very distinct personalities. The audio, visuals, and pacing are all excellent, and the insert songs are great too.
The only drawback is the idol-romance premise, but so far, both the male and female leads have been very restrained, so there aren't any major issues with the viewing experience.
Hell Teacher Nube Part 2: 3.5/5
As a reader of the original manga, I feel this remake has a mix of pros and cons.
The pros: It removes the uncomfortable fan service involving elementary students from the original work, Part 2 selects some of the more touching chapters, and it adds original content that enriches character development. Both the OP and ED are great.
The cons: The art style suffers from severe quality drops, especially the off-model faces—look at what they did to Tamamo's handsome face!
Also, most of the original content added to stretch the runtime is quite boring. Given how many great short stories are in the original, it would have been more appropriate to adapt two manga chapters per episode.
After finishing it, I don't think there will be another season. For those interested, I recommend reading the manga.
The Invisible Man and the Human Woman: 4/5
An excellent romance anime. The interactions between the male and female leads are sweet and not awkward at all.
The animation is consistent, there was even one mini-masterpiece episode, and it explores the issues faced when living as different species.
The overall viewing experience is very comfortable and worth recommending.
Did anyone else watch these series this season? What are your thoughts?
