All You Need Is Kill, 2 volumes! It was later adapted into the Hollywood movie Edge of Tomorrow. The original manga version is even better.
Reading all 10 volumes of <i>Parasyte</i> in one go was so satisfying! Although there are some scary scenes, the philosophy behind the story is very profound.
Although <i>Assassination Classroom</i>'s 21 volumes aren't exactly short, the pacing is excellent; you can finish it over a long weekend. The ending is guaranteed to be a tear-jerker.
A Silent Voice +1! After watching it, you'll reflect on your own behavior. The impact of this work is greater than many long-running series.
Yuri recommendation: "Forest of Fairies" (仙女之森), 2 volumes complete, a gentle yuri story. You can finish it in an afternoon, and the lingering feeling will last for a long time.
I recommend the 80s manga version of <i>Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind</i>! It's only 7 volumes but incredibly dense, and it's a completely different story from the anime version. Hayao Miyazaki's manga artistry is underrated.
I recommend <i>Planet With</i>! It tells a super complete robot story in just 7 volumes. The pacing is incredibly tight.
I recommend <i>Toward the Stars</i>! It's 3 volumes long and every page is so gentle. It's perfect for savoring slowly on a quiet afternoon.
"Ping Pong" 5 volumes! Taiyo Matsumoto's art style is so unique, and the story is about friendship and growth; I was so moved after finishing it.
If you're looking for 4-koma, <i>Azumanga Daioh</i> has 4 volumes! It was super fun to read all at once, I was laughing from start to finish.
