You have to be careful when watching the final episode of a series while commuting. One time, I was crying so hard on the MTR that the whole carriage was staring at me.
The ending of "Slam Dunk" is the greatest use of negative space in manga history. Not explaining what happened afterward was actually the best choice.
The good ending that most people overlook: the ending of the Land of the Lustrous manga. The scale of the entire universe is just too mind-blowing.
I cried uncontrollably at the ending of "Assassination Classroom," but I felt so satisfied. The growth of the entire class is the best ending possible.
Adding one more: Silver Spoon. The endings of Hiromu Arakawa's works never disappoint.
As a completionist, I have to say: works that can wrap up properly are becoming fewer and fewer. The titles on this list are all models for the industry.
From the perspective of animation archaeology: The ending of Future Boy Conan remains a classic even today. Hayao Miyazaki's ability to wrap up a story is top-tier.
The ending of "Your Lie in April"... it's heartbreaking, but so fulfilling. I cry every time I re-read that letter.
